The Taylor 424ce Urban Ash LTD acoustic-electric guitar represents a return to a practice once common in traditional instrument building: Using tonewoods from a local region. Sourced from southern California, urban ash is used to craft the top, back and sides of this fine instrument, in order to create a tone that's focused, with a strong voice that is equally articulate and responsive to the touch. Noteworthy appointments to the 424ce include Taylor V-Class bracing, a gloss finish, Renaissance inlay pattern, plus a fingerboard, bridge and headplate made of genuine West African ebony.
The limited-edition 424ce is also equipped with Taylor Expression System 2 electronics. The heart of the Expression System 2 is the patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors, enabling a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured when plugged in. Combined with the Taylor custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. Whether you plug into a PA, your favorite acoustic amplifier or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar. The 424ce acoustic-electric also includes a hardshell case for protection between gigs.
