"Kluson-style" tuners on vintage and reissue Fender's look good, but get stiff and stop working over time. Finding a modern locking replacement without drilling new holes or reaming was difficult until now.
These tuning machines have a super-precise 18:1 gear ratio, and the rear thumbscrew locks the string to the post to stay in tune even during deep bends.
