The Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Korina Flying V is a meticulously crafted reissue of a true classic. Everything about it is historically accurate, from the korina body and neck woods to the Custombucker pickups wound to vintage specs. Korina has a warm yet crisp tone that many players prefer over mahogany. The pickups have that magical singing PAF tone that defined rock and blues in the late 1950s and early 60s. The Gibson Flying V™ was way ahead of its time when it was introduced in 1958, and only 81 were shipped that year, but it has become very popular in the years since then. The classic vintage Flying V features have been carefully recreated in this Historic Reissue model. Featuring an ABR-1 bridge with a string-through korina body, Custombucker pickups, korina neck, Indian rosewood fretboard, two volume and one tone control with CTS® pots and a phone book capacitor, gold hardware, Kluson® tuners, and a 4-ply black pickguard. A historically accurate case is included, with a classic brown exterior and plush pink interior.
