Product Description
The Taylor Builder’s Edition 814ce LTD Macassar Ebony is a masterfully crafted, limited-edition expression of Taylor’s celebrated Grand Auditorium platform. Built with solid Macassar ebony back and sides and a premium Adirondack spruce top, this model offers a commanding tonal profile—powerful bass, rich lower mids, crisp trebles, and a dynamic range that rewards both subtle expression and aggressive strumming. Adirondack’s responsiveness acts as an amplifier for Macassar ebony’s depth and harmonic character, producing exceptional volume and complexity.
Taylor’s Scalloped V-Class bracing further enhances projection, sustain, and tonal clarity. As part of the Builder’s Edition family, this instrument features numerous comfort-focused refinements: beveled armrest, beveled cutaway, chamfered body edges, and the sculpted Curve Wing bridge, all designed to elevate the playing experience.
This LTD model includes a stunning four-piece Simons wedge back, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, and a full-body gloss finish with a Kona edgeburst on the back and sides (clearly visible in the images on page 2). Builder’s Edition–specific appointments include a green abalone rosette, black/maple/rosewood top edge trim, Element shell fretboard and peghead inlays, and a rosewood pickguard, creating a visually sophisticated and cohesive package. Outfitted with Taylor’s Claria electronics system, this guitar delivers pristine, natural acoustic tone with intuitive onboard control.
