The Martin Custom Shop D-18 Custom Expert Authentic 1937 in stunning Ambertone finish is a masterfully crafted recreation of one of the most revered pre-war dreadnoughts ever built. Designed with vintage-correct construction techniques and premium tonewoods, this Custom Expert model delivers the unmistakable power, warmth, and clarity that made the original 1937 D-18 legendary.
Built with an Adirondack spruce top and genuine mahogany back and sides, this guitar offers exceptional headroom, articulate highs, woody midrange character, and a deep, punchy low end. The Authentic 1937 construction features hide glue assembly, scalloped forward-shifted X-bracing, and period-correct shaping for unmatched resonance and dynamic response.
The Ambertone finish provides a beautifully aged aesthetic, highlighting the tight grain of the Adirondack spruce while giving the instrument a classic pre-war vibe. The Modified Low Oval neck with Authentic 1937 profile offers a comfortable yet substantial feel, ideal for both traditional flatpicking and dynamic strumming.
