Martin has revamped the most popular series in the USA Martin Guitar Production for 2025 with the following features.
GOLDEN ERA APPOINTMENTS.
What is “The Golden Era”? Those years between the late 1920s and 1942 when a perfect storm of innovation, materials, and craftsmanship at Martin produced some of the world’s finest, most sought-after guitars that sound better as they age. The new Standard Series instruments now feature Sitka spruce Golden Era (GE) top bracing, as featured on the Modern Deluxe series, which offers a more vintage, breathy tone with enhanced sustain, and a new GE modern belly bridge with smoother, more comfortable corners
THE ENHANCED FINGERBOARD FEEL.
Demonstrate by holding a current Standard Series model alongside one of our refined models. Note the improved comfort that applies to the thinner fingerboard with a gently beveled edge.
Standard Series guitars also now feature bone or ebony bridge pins, depending on the model. Give a Standard Series a strum alongside a lower-level model to showcase the resonance.
AESTHETIC DIFFERENCES.
Aesthetic updates include a long diamond neck transition, the nut cut on an angle, and a sleeker vintage-style heel.
The Martin 00L Oliver is a stunning new model born from a unique collaboration between Martin Guitar and renowned artist Julie Heffernan. This limited-edition acoustic features Heffernan’s captivating oil painting “Self-Portrait as Arms and the Men,” beautifully reproduced on its FSC®-certified solid spruce top. This guitar isn’t just an instrument – it’s a work of art that brings together the worlds of fine art and music.
Heffernan’s painting transforms the 00L Oliver into a canvas that tells a story every time you play it. “I was blown away by the imagery, and it really spoke to me,” recalls Martin President and CEO Thomas Ripsam. “I thought it would be beautiful to combine her art with our art of creating musical instruments.” Heffernan adds, “[My work] is all about the tangled complexity of nature that feeds a creative mind... I knew almost immediately which piece would work for the top of this guitar.” Her surrealist landscape lays bare the conflict between nature and humankind's impact on the planet, and the result is something you can both showcase and play, blending visual beauty with the classic tone and feel of a Martin. Named after Heffernan's son, Oliver, a singer-songwriter who fronts the band Bellows, it holds special meaning. “When he first picked up a guitar, he came alive,” she shares.
Beyond its eye-catching artwork, the 00L Oliver is crafted with premium materials and appointments. With a sloped-shoulder Grand Concert (00) body, its solid medium-flame koa satin back and sides bridge the gap between the rich tones of rosewood and the warm, resonant qualities of mahogany, offering a well-balanced sound. Its FSC-certified satin spruce top also delivers efficient, balanced projection while underscoring Martin's commitment to sustainability. Complete with a modified low oval satin mahogany neck and its high-performance taper, this guitar is a breeze to play in any style.
Included with the 00L Oliver is a softshell case made of hemp, providing eco-friendly protection for this limited-edition work of art. Inside the guitar, an embossed paper label hand-signed and numbered by Heffernan and Ripsam adds a personal touch, while its faux tortoise binding, nickel open gear tuners, aluminum side dots, abalone fingerboard inlay, and ebony bridge and fingerboard add to the guitar's elegance.
