Overview: Johnny Cash profoundly influenced multiple genres, including country, rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel. Cash received 13 GRAMMY® Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999, nine CMA Awards, and honors such as the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts.
In the late 1950s, Gibson crafted two custom SJ-200s for Johnny Cash, featuring his name inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the fretboard and a distinctive pickguard designed by Cash himself. Gibson Custom is proud to recreate these iconic guitars to honor his legacy. This limited run of only 100 hand-made instruments, crafted by Gibson’s expert luthiers in Bozeman, Montana, is a tribute to the "Man in Black."
